2021 VERMENTINO
A thick skinned Italian varietal ideally suited to skin contact. Hand picked fruit is sourced from Golden Grove Estate, Ballandean, wild fermented on skins with daily plunging for 10 days. Basket pressed and left to mature in tank for 5 months before being racked and bottled.
Storm King Wine Co 2021 Vermentino is a dry textured wine displaying musk stick, pear and ginger aromas.

Basket pressing
Small batches means small equipment! This manual basket press was originally Ray’s Grandfather’s and has been passed down through the family. It holds approximately 200 litres and allows for total control over the pressing process.
2021 SHIRAZ MALBEC
Shiraz, hand picked from Golden Grove Estate’s 53 year old vines, naturally fermented and followed by an extended maceration (56 days). Blended with an equal quantity of Malbec and left to mature in French oak barriques for 8 months.

Old Vines
Old vines that have stood the test of time!
They grow fewer bunches but pack them full of flavour which in turn leads to fuller more flavoursome wine.
Why Blend Shiraz and Malbec?
The spicy characteristics of Shiraz pair perfectly with the smooth plummy flavours of Malbec.
2021 MATARO GRACIANO
A handpicked field blend of 80% Mataro and 20% Graciano from Golden Grove Estate’s vineyard. Wild fermented and left on skins for 112 days. Basket pressed and then matured in French oak for 3 months.
620 bottles produced.
Extended Maceration
Leaving a wine on it’s skins and seeds after fermentation creates wines with lots of depth of flavour. It increases the tannin profile resulting in more full bodied, savoury wines that age exceptionally well.
Pump it Over
All the grapes flavours and colours are jam packed in the skins, so it is essential to extract these into the wine by daily plunging or pumping the juice from the bottom of the tank back over the skins at the top.
